St. Saviour’s School Ebute Metta has a robust Assessment policy to track and accelerate pupil progress, thereby improving pupils’ outcomes.
Assessment is an integral part of the Curriculum and is designed to meet the needs of the Nigerian Curriculum, whilst keeping up with international trends in Primary Education.
The Teachers use a range of assessment techniques; part of an integrated approach to Teaching and Learning. Our pupils are encouraged to be part of this Assessment process, understanding their individual potential, their progress and the next steps to ensure they make expected or better progress.
To gauge learning, assessment opportunities are planned for each lesson and pupils are formally assessed during Assessment Week in the first half of each Term and during Exam Week at the end of each Term. Besides meeting Teachers at Open Day each Term, Parents are given a Report Card at the end of the Term with both Assessment and Exam scores, as well as individual comments for each subject and specific targets to ensure continued progress.
